Play Dirty (1969) directed by Andre de Toth

Commentary:
The situation involves a British sabotage group made up of criminals. [Clearly, this is a knockoff of The Dirty Dozen.] Michael Caine, a young captain who is very regular, is assigned to head this group on a mission behind German lines to destroy a fuel depot. He is only nominally the head, though. His authority is constantly undermined. There is an interesting battle for authority in which he sometimes right, often wrong (because of his lack of knowledge of the area, etc.) The film is consistently engrossing. It has a great plot The motives are consistently clear, as are the conflicts.
