Boudue Sauve des Eaux (1932) directed by Jean Renoir
Seen on May 30, 1972
Though I missed 20 minutes or so in the middle, this was still a delightful Renoir film. It's about a tramp, Boudu, who tries to kill himself after losing his dog. He is rescued by a bookseller who take him in. In the end, Boudu marries the chambermaid, but he decieds to return to his tramp life.
The film is a joyful celebration of anarchy.
[I can't imagine how I could miss 20 minutes in the middle, unless I fell asleep. Of course, I have seen this film more than once since, and I rate it as one of Renoir's masterpieces.]
